Creating your artwork
- How does Dureta work?
- You upload one of your own photographs, choose an artwork style, and Dureta transforms the image into an artistic interpretation. You then choose the product, size and framing, and see the finished artwork on screen before you order.
- Can I preview the artwork before ordering?
- Yes. The transformed artwork is shown in a large preview, together with the size, framing and layout you have selected. Nothing is produced until you place the order.
- Can I try different styles?
- Yes. You can switch between Oil Painting and Watercolour while configuring your artwork, and compare the results before choosing.
- What happens after I upload a photo?
- Your photograph is transformed into the style you selected and shown in the preview. From there you choose Canvas or Fine Art Print, a size, an orientation and a frame finish, then save the design. You can return to your Saved Designs later to edit it or select it for purchase.
Artwork styles
- What is the Oil Painting style?
- The Oil Painting style reinterprets your photograph with richer colour, softened detail and painterly texture, rather than as a filtered photograph.
- What is the Watercolour style?
- The Watercolour style reinterprets your photograph with translucent colour and softer edges, leaving more open, luminous areas than the Oil Painting style.
- How closely will the artwork match my original photo?
- The original photograph remains the foundation — its composition, people and defining details are preserved. Texture, surfaces and backgrounds are reinterpreted, so the result reads as an artwork of your moment rather than a copy of the photograph.
Products & materials
- What is a Fine Art Print?
- A Fine Art Print is your artwork printed on archival-grade fine art paper. It can be ordered unframed, or framed in one of four wooden finishes.
- What paper is used?
- 230 gsm archival-grade fine art paper with a textured matte surface.
- What is the Canvas option?
- Canvas is your artwork printed on stretched canvas and set in a solid wood floating frame. The image is wrapped around the edges as a mirrored continuation, so no part of the artwork is lost at the sides.
- What canvas is used?
- Archival-grade canvas, a 340 gsm poly-cotton blend with a matte/satin finish. It is resistant to scratching, cracking and warping.
- What printing method is used?
- Both canvas and fine art prints are produced with museum-quality giclée printing technology.
- How deep is the canvas?
- The canvas is stretched over wooden stretcher bars 3.5 cm (1.75 in) deep.
- Does the canvas arrive ready to hang?
- Yes. Sawtooth hanging hardware is included and pre-installed, so the canvas can go straight on the wall.
- Is the Fine Art Print protected by glass or acrylic?
- Framed prints for Europe are glazed with real glass, except for the 70 × 70 cm and 70 × 100 cm formats, which use acrylic glass. Framed prints for the United States are glazed with shatter-resistant acrylic glass.
- What are the frames made from?
- Canvas floating frames are made from solid real wood. Fine Art Print frames are handmade wooden frames from Italy. Oak, Dark Oak, Dark Wood, Black and White are finish names.
- Are frames included?
- Canvas always includes a floating frame in the finish you choose. Fine Art Prints can be ordered framed or as a print only — the price shown reflects your choice.
- What frame finishes are available?
- Canvas is available in Oak and Dark Oak. Fine Art Prints are available in Oak, Dark Wood, Black and White, or unframed.
- Is each piece made to order?
- Yes. Nothing is printed in advance — every artwork is made on demand from sustainably sourced materials after your order is confirmed.
Sizes & framing
- What sizes are available?
- Canvas is available from 60 × 40 cm up to 150 × 100 cm, in landscape, portrait and square formats including 80 × 80 cm and 120 × 120 cm. Fine Art Prints run from 30 × 40 cm up to 140 × 100 cm, with square formats up to 100 × 100 cm. Sizes are shown in inches with centimetres alongside for orders in the United States.
- Can I order framed or unframed?
- Fine Art Prints can be ordered either framed or as a print only. Canvas is supplied with a floating frame.
- What is the difference between Oak and Dark Oak?
- Both are solid wood frames with the same profile, differing in finish. Oak is a warm, natural tone; Dark Oak is a deeper, darker tone. You can switch between them in the configurator and the preview updates immediately.
Ordering & delivery
- Where does Dureta ship?
- Online checkout is available in the 27 member states of the European Union and in the United States. Orders to other countries can be arranged manually by writing to us.
- How long does delivery take?
- Each artwork is produced to order. Estimated delivery is 7–14 business days from order confirmation, including production and transit.
- Is delivery included?
- Yes. Shipping is included in every displayed price. There is no separate delivery charge at checkout.
- Can I return or cancel my order?
Each Dureta artwork is made especially for you, based on your photo and the choices you make. Because it is a personalised, made-to-order product, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply.
If your artwork arrives damaged, has been produced incorrectly, or does not match your order, please contact us at info@dureta.se and we'll make it right.
If you notice a mistake shortly after placing your order, contact us as soon as possible. If production has not yet started, we'll do our best to help.

Artwork & image handling
- What happens to my uploaded photo?
- Your photograph and the finished artwork file are kept in private storage used to produce your order. They are never publicly accessible; internal access happens only through short-lived, signed links.
- Who is responsible for the image I upload?
- You are. Please upload only photographs you own or have permission to use — a family, wedding or travel photograph of your own is exactly what Dureta is made for.
