The Watercolour style

Watercolour is the lighter of Dureta's two styles. Detail is gently reduced, colours become more translucent and edges soften, giving the artwork an open, effortless quality.
It works particularly beautifully with photographs that already contain space and light — coastlines, architecture, portraits and quiet everyday moments.

Layers of soft colour give the image an airy, luminous feel.

Made for the wall
A watercolour artwork can be ordered as a Fine Art Print on archival paper, framed or unframed, or as a Canvas set in a solid wood floating frame. Lighter artworks tend to sit comfortably in a pale frame and plenty of wall.

- Which photographs suit the Watercolour style?
- Images with open light and clear space around the subject — coastlines, architecture, portraits with a simple background — respond particularly well, because the style relies on light, unworked areas.
- Can I see the artwork before I order?
- Yes. The transformed artwork is shown in a large preview together with the product, size and framing you have selected. Nothing is produced until you place the order.
- How is Watercolour different from the Oil Painting style?
- Watercolour uses translucent colour, softer edges and lighter, more open areas. Oil Painting is richer and denser, with more painterly texture and depth.
- Is it made with real watercolour paint?
- No. Dureta creates an artistic interpretation of your photograph, which is then printed with museum-quality giclée printing on canvas or archival fine art paper.
- What products can I choose?
